E.J. de Graaff Group

Sets himself apart from other crooners by a very personal sound and natural sense of atmosphere. Eric mixes smooth melancholy ballads with swinging up-tempo songs to create a place where time stands still and songs from the last 70 years of jazz history can naturally join. Imagine the delicate melancholy of Chet Baker with the soulfulness of Etta James. “Because music is a passion for me and not a means, I have the luxury to only make the music that I like and play with the musicians that I like and complement my sound.”

Eric’s an original Jazz-kid who was introduced to the music at a young age by his father, famous Jazz Pianist Rein de Graaff. He works as a manager at a Photography museum in Amsterdam. As is the case with his father, making music is pure passion for Eric, not a profession. Eric is complemented by an atmospheric combination of Bass (Erik Robaart), Guitar (David Golek) and Trumpet (Ellister van der Molen) Pure music, straight from the heart, proud of tradition but never dogmatic. A new generation that wants to speak the language of its heroes. Individuals subordinate to the music that wants to speak the language of its heroes. Individuals subordinate to the music.
